ARTISTE INTERVIEWS

I must take this opportunity to congratulate Lady B Bless and her team for boldly taking on the task of giving musicians around the world a place to showcase their talents at no cost.

As a radio announcer I understand and share her views with regards to highlighting new talents on the world scene.

Here in Jamaica we have a lot of talented artistes who are dying for the opportunity to be heard, but some persons in the music industry only pay attention to those who already have stamped their names on the international scene, thus making it hard for new talents to be marketable.

I have made a decision that while I’m in the industry I will ensure that some of these artistes get an opportunity to be heard, if even for one hour on my Friday night show on Vybz 96.3 FM. From 8:00 to 9:00pm EST on Fridays, I interview one or two new artiste/s (sometimes I do invite seasoned artistes to give the show a blend) in order to give them the publicity they need. On that same Friday night from 7:00 – 8:00pm EST I play music from new artistes. So all in all I set aside 2 hours per week to showcase new talents. There are other Deejays at Vybz who do similar or other features and it is well appreciated by the persons we highlight.
